702 - Self Assessment Inventory
Make sure to give yourself a grade of 1-4 based on the data you find out from your folder, sourcebook, teacherease and blog.
Homework for tonight - post to this blog post
Sometimes when we really care about something we are moved to give up things that we would never concede under normal circumstances. In my house, my husband and I work very hard to keep things "Green" so we can do our part in helping fight against global warming. It started with small things like separating the garbage and changing the light bulbs. Then it became a way of life and it didn't seem like an inconvenience anymore. Next was becoming mindful of shutting lights and other electronic equipment.
This is just one example... I'm sure if you ask your parents the sacrifices they have had to make to give each of you what you need, they'd have a lot to say too!

Teacherease grading scale...
For instance, a 91 is coming up as a B+, but a 91 to me is an A-. Please realize that teacher ease doesn't always spit out the 100% right totals... plus it is never 100% updated.
To work on getting a better grade (if you are interested), you can do any or all of the following:
participate in class discussion
keep up with class work when it is assigned
do homework when it is due
conference with me whenever you don't understand something
do the best that you can on all of your assignments
Keep up with independent reading
stop focusing on the grade and focus on the learning... at the end of the year as long as you are achieving a 3 or 4 in all necessary standards, then you are doing great.
Homework for the weekend - see you on Tuesday
How do you believe our country's values have changed since its formatation?
Thing about what we talked about in class today... and what do you believe are our core beliefs and values now as a country?

We will resume our studies of the creation of our nation, so come ready to learn new material. Make sure you have the usual material (your reader's and writer's sourcebook which will begin to randomly be collected and graded soon)
We will be starting and/or finishing individual conferencing over the next few weeks to see where everyone is and where we need to be headed.

Editing practice using worksheets
Editing - the big scary monster, so it seems...
I'd like to remind everyone, that they can practice everyday with their own work... Even in the posts about what your concerns are there were many careless mistakes. Like the word careless is spelled with an "e". When you start a new sentence after a period, the first word should be capitalized. Just because you are writing to the blog doesn't make you exempt from standard written English... practice, practice, practice!

Can Someone Help?
I have learned a lot in WJPS since the begining of the year but I think that I have mastered or at least gotten better in parts of speech. I know when to use most of them and I have a clear idea of what each one is. I think I have mastered a lot of them but I can still improve, I still need improvement with my prepositions.
