Today's Quiz

I hope toaday everyone learned a good lesson about following directions. We asked you to look at the blog every day... we told you to bring your notes to class. We told you would need to know this information. Some of your were still surprised.ns

You will not be able to drop this grade and/or do it over. Please try to follow directions better when they are given. We do ask you to do things for a reason and we're sorry that it had to come to a quiz for each of you to get the point.

Remember, one of the standards does address the ability to follow multi-step directions. It's a listening skill.

Please post a reflection about what you learned from this experience to this blog....

Even though I completed the treasure hunt, I still found that I did not have enough information for some of the questions on today's quiz. Working with a partner that I chose was nice, but while my partner and I were working, we were easily disctracted. I learned that sometimes, working with a friend isn't exactly the best way to go. Also, I believe that using the book is bette than the internet becuause the internet usually gives tooo much or too little information. I hope that this won't happen again.

Before taking the test, i thought i had substatial information about the subjects on the paper. I also assumed that there would be citation on the quiz. But i didn't know it would also have book citation. I thought it would only be website citation, whcich i'm now comfortable with. I'm disapointed because I know that i didn't do well on the test. I didn't write down a lot of the dates and the reason for the tripoli war. Next time I hope to do better.

I had finished the treasure hunt but like Jonathan i also didn't have all the info that was on the test. I had gotten the wrong info on the tripoli too because i dint look at the info i found to well and just wrote it down. (In my own words though)I know i didn't do to well on the test though. I learned that when i get inf off the internet i always have to check to make sure its what i need and i got enough down. I am comfortable with the citation though, because i had to do a good one for my blogger project and i did well.

I learned a lot from this expirience. I now know that its best to write things in your notebook than to type them up in google docs. I also learned to do as much as you can in the time given to you. Today was an overwhelming day, especially with this quiz. I hope that this experience won't happen again, as Jonathan said.

I learned from today's experiance that from now on I will be checking the blog every single day.
I honestly think that this was a good way for Ms.Sackstien to know if everyone checks the blog. If this ever does happen again I will be prepared because the day before I will have checked the blog.

I have now learned that I must come completely prepared to class. I left my notes in my locker even though I knew we were having a quiz. I didn't know we would be able to use our notes. In the future I will assume that we need everything relating to the topic.

I have learned a lot from this experience. I now know to ALWAYS come prepared with all of my notes and to check the blog everyday. Today was very busy and overwhelming as Joanna said. I hope I would do better next time and that this experience doesn't happen again.

This experience had thought me alot. It shows me that I need to check the blog everyday. Even if I did finish the treasure hunt yesterday, I think one reason we finished was because our notes were short and not thorough. I was struggling with the quiz without my notes, but even if I did have my notes, it wouldn't have helped much.

I went on the blog and I tried to finsh the treasure hunt. I still had to do more. I was on the 11th one on the list and I told my self to push but it didn't work. I think this was a great leason becuase you told the class to go on the blog and they said ok and if they look they could of know. Maybe in the futer people would start to look at the blog more and then they would get the heads up on projects and maybe test. If I was a teacher would do the same thing too. Just me looking at the blog I still don't see kids going on the blog still the same people on the blog.I hope people would start to get the point of it by now.

quiz.

To tell you the truth yesturday when Ms.G told us to do the treasure Hunt, I didn't really pay attention. I was fooling around. Today when Ms.S. gave us the quiz I was shocked. I think I learned my lesson! I can definetly tell you that I failed!! Maybe next time I should listen, and take it seriously when a teacher talks.

Through this experience, I learned that I should listen well and follow the directions. I thought it was fair since we were the ones who didnt go on as we were directed. I think I didn't do a good job on this test and I learned that this kind of outcome is made when you don't follow directions. I usually go on blogs as much as possible; About 2 days a week. I never imagined this kind of test would be ahead of us and I would have known if I'd listened.

I lernd that I should always check the blog. Also I should always listen to you. Im sorry.

I thought I had enough information because I had finished the treasure hunt. Little did I know that the quiz asked for more specific questions. Luckily, i managed to find some facts just before the quiz started. My partner and I were both distracted very easily, but at least we got the work done and a good deal of information. I also think that book sources are better than internet sources because the internet gives information that is sometimes to much. I have learned a lot from this experience and that i hope i can improve the next time we do something like this.

I'm so happy to hear that all of you have learned some valuable lessons today. Like I mentioned in class, we did not give you this quiz to be mean but to make you all aware of the importance of following directions. I hope that from this point forward the class will come prepared, not waste class time chatting, and follow the directions that are given in class. Its nice to see that all of you followed todays directions and checked the blog. THANK YOU!!!

When I heard that we had a quiz to take right now, I was really surprised and I was really shocked=].. I first thought "Wait, Didn't Ms.Sackstein said that she is always going to tell us if we have a quiz or a test? Why didn't she tell us that yesterday, that we are going to have a test tomorrow." But when I heard that it was post to the blog, I thought I deserve it. I didn't have a lot of information on the treasure hunt because I was researching the 6th one by the time when Ms. Sackstein told the class to stop and take the quiz. So I couldn't answer all the question and I think I got a really bad grade on it. Like what Jonathan said I hope this won't happen again. I think I learned a lesson to look at the blog everyday.\=

I really did learn a BIG lesson. I learned to take every little thing serious. I never thought that we were going to use this notes so i took it slow and looked information one by one and only got like 6 notes. Next time i will try to do much better and follow directions. I think if i would of paid more attention i could of done much better in the quiz. I have to agree with Jonathan when he said that working with a friend was not a good idea because you get easily distracted, I did my notes with my friend and i found it very hard because out of no where we both changed the subject and talked about other things.

I learned a lot from the treasure hunt we did in class a few days ago. I never knew how challenging the internet could be sometimes. I deffinitley found it a lot easier using our school text books. I now also find history a lot more interesting all together and i enjoy learning how we became the country we now live in today. My notes also helped me a lot for the test/quiz.

I did not complete my treasure hunt. I mostly guessed on the questions on the quiz. I should have taken more notes also. I only got up to 6-7 on the hunt. The only reason I did not finish was because I took too long on one subject.

Although i probabaly failed the test, I am not going to say that it was unfair because I think Mrs.Sackstein and Ms.G were completly fair about the whole quiz. Honestly, I did not look at the blog and I completly take the blame for everything because Mrs.Sackstein repeated herself about 60 times during that period saying to check the blog everyday. Mrs.Sackstein and Ms.G remind us and encourage us everyday to take a glance and read the posts on the blog because it is always being updated more than once a day. I also didnt listen to directions when Mrs.Sackstein said to BRING MY NOTES TO CLASS. If I had checked the blog that night, I would have known about the test and I would have gone over the treasure hunt and study it. I think everyone learned a valuable lesson and I'm pretty sure that my class will start paying attention and hopefully this won't happen again.

From this experience I learned that it is always important to check th blog. I also learned to pay alot more attention to the teacher when she tells you to do somthing and I think its easier to use a book than the internet.
