Homework for tonight - post to this blog post

What kinds of sacrifices must be made to further a cause?

Sometimes when we really care about something we are moved to give up things that we would never concede under normal circumstances. In my house, my husband and I work very hard to keep things "Green" so we can do our part in helping fight against global warming. It started with small things like separating the garbage and changing the light bulbs. Then it became a way of life and it didn't seem like an inconvenience anymore. Next was becoming mindful of shutting lights and other electronic equipment.

This is just one example... I'm sure if you ask your parents the sacrifices they have had to make to give each of you what you need, they'd have a lot to say too!

A sacrifice that could bacome a future cause is solerpower. We could start to us soler power and we spend less money for eletrice. If a huge amount of people did this they could close power plants.

i agree with anthony about using soler power. We ca use the soler power in the day and we wont waste as much energy. We also need to sacrifice gas so it wont cause green house gases and damage the o zone layer.

Another sacrifice would be cars because of the pollution so we could ride bikes and other things is would also help people with their breathing too. well that could just be until they figure out a way to stop pollution.

I agree with "Mizz Spoiled" because if less of use used cars, there would be less air pollution, and more people would be outside and doing excercise. I would definetly be able to sacrafice is fast food. I hardly eat it so I won't really miss it.

Today when I copied down the homework from the board I wrote "What kinds of sacrifices must be made to further a cause?". My answer to that would be drastic ones because, I believe if you are going to sacrifice something you should go all out. Meaning, you should not do something small. But, after reading other peoples posts I see that they wrote things that they would sacrifice. We already discussed that in class but I will reply to my homework that way as well anyway just in case. I would sacrifice soda, sweets, and makeup.

A sacrifice I would make would be cars and all transportation that makes pollution in the world. I would sacrifice the cars and all the other transportation that is making pollution because if it stops then people with asthem wont have to use their inhalers that often. I would also sacrifice fast food because it is kind of nasty and it is also not healthy for people!!!!!!

Joanna Pantelides said...

As many other people have said, I would sacrifice any use of transportation. I would also try to persuade other people to do the same. If a lot of people used bicycles or walked, there wouldn't be as much polution in the air.

A sacrifice that could become a future cause is cars, people are suffering because of the quality of the air. It's polluted and dirty to breath in. It can damage your health system and you could be in grave danger.
Just like I said earlier in class, I would sacrifice the use of transportation. Transportation is causing the people to lose a lot, and a lot of money.

I would sacrifice cars because then there would be less pollution in the world and the world would be a better place to live in. Instead of using cars we could be walking and riding bikes, we would be a lot healthier. If everyone stopped using cars as a way to get from place to place the world would be more cleaner.

RayDragon24 said...

Is this for 702 only or 731 too?
Even if it isn't I am going to say that I would help the world by watching less television and telling others to avoid electrical things. If I had to sacrifice something I would give away my t.v, no more fast food, and instead of taking buses or motor powered vehicles, I would ride a bike or roller blade like what Gabby said, less pollution.

i could sacrifice using my phone and the t.v. and computer. I think I could handle that becuase I think without electrce is fine. Your grandparents went with out elcetric so can we so I can give up ALL my electric things.

Going green is not the only example of making a sacrifice to further a cause. Since America is home of many obese children, those children want to get healthy. They have to give up candy and other junk food and exercise more, but what if instead of only helping themselves, they also tried to get other kids to be active. That is another thing that would be helpful to our nation, because the healthier you are, the longer you live. I noticed that many people were talking about how people should give up cars and help the world "go green." That would be very helpful, but the truth is, people can not just give up something like cars. Without cars, peple would not be able to travel as far as they can with cars, which would be very bad for the economy, but helpful for "going green." The truth is, not a small amount of people have to give up big things, but a big amount of people should be giving up what they can. For example, if every peron in the whole world turned off the light in a room that they are not in, that would help the world a lot. Even those two examples are not the only ones. There are many sacrifices that can be made to help further a cause.

If I had to sacrifice somethings to further a cause, I would give away all those uneeded electonic devices such as t.v.'s etc. Like Jonathan said, those who are obesed give up junk food and try to fit in excercise whenever they could. If they walked somewhere(not too extremely far away) they could help themselves and reduce the pollution we put in the air.

I am sick of gasoline. We should switch to HYBRID,HYDROGEN or ELECTRICITY for good. Get gas off the rode!

Andrea Quintana said...

A sacrifice that most people should make is to use less gas or no gas at all, I would give it up because if you have public transportation all around you, you don't have to waste money buying gas and using gas that you shouldn't use. I also agree with Anthony and mike because if we do use less Soler power we can safe as much energy and have enough power for when we really need it.

A sacrifice i would make is giving up the use of cars, we dont need to drive everywhere in a car if it takes under 40 minutes to get there then walk or ride a bike, scooter, skate there, ect.

Spencer said...

A sacrifice that would become positive for the future is to not print anything and email it to people. I realized this when Miss Sackstein sent me an email regarding a survey instead of printing it and using lots of papers this would help the enviorment.

Anthony Drew said...

A sacrifice is something special given away with no regret. Moms and Dads make many sacrifices for their children, so they live on with better life. Some parents save for their children’s college expensive, some spend time with their children, and some parents make sure their children have music lessons, play sports, or other activities that cost a lot of money.

HANLIM said...

One sacrifice is using cars. The cars are polluting and it's causing the global warming. We can start carpooling to lower polluting. We could bike to places. It would help you excercise.

H.W: Sacrifices:
Things that I could sacrifice is some of my electronics. Like Television, computers,(if we dont have H.W like this one again)and even my lights. When it gets dark, I would just go to sleep and wake up as soon as it gets light and start the day. It would be boring without these electronics but I
wouldn't have to pay a lot for it or die without it.

Natalia said...

I would be able to sacrafice my tv, computer, and other electronic things to help the enviorment a little better. I'll still use them just a little less. YOu can also help the enviorment by using hybrids, and recycling.

phil ciciariello said...

I agree with and mike the one thing I disagree with is instead of green house gas. We could use a single power use of energy that could stop global warming.Mabey that could become a future cause. This is my thoughts of a sacrifice that could save us frome global warming.

lightbulb82@earthlink.net said...

A sacrifice would definitly be electronics. I say this because using so much electricty is a waste that is damaging our planet. Obviously its possible to live without electronics because it had been done for thousads of years. It would solve a lot of problems that families are having with money and government problems with destroying the planet.

A Sacrifice that could become a future cause is gas, but not cars. Gas causes air pollution. If we got rid of gas there would be no air pollution.Cars can run on something else besides gas. We use cars every day of our life. Even night, because people do still drive at night. If we were to stop using gas 24 hours we could help our evironment a whole lot. There are other things we could power cars with. But I would never sacrfice cars because we really need them. What if you wanted to go somewhere far? You couldn't get anyway far on a bike.It would take a long time. But gas can be sacrified.

A sacrifice that i would make for future causes would be recycling. Nowadays my family is used to recycling and its almost a habit, but for me its still a loss because i hate having to separate my garbage when i take it out. Especially in the cold.

I think that a sacrifice I wouldn't mind making is not using cars. When we use cars we pollute the air and that could lead to global warning.
Also people spend a lot of money on gas especially if they have big cars that use a lot of gas.

I agree with .....
"Supa Grl<3,"Mizz Spoiled" because if we had less cars that run on gas there would be less air pollution in the air, and then when people go outside they will smell and breath much better. one thing I think I would definetly be able to sacrafice video games because I only really play it only when im at my Moms house. I paly them with my dad =]. So I wont really miss fighting over the control with my sister.

Another sacrafice could be the number of fast food resterants there are in the world the cause would be good for the environment because they take up space and use a lot of electricity and also it helps health

A sacrifice i would make would be cars and gas.I would sacrifice that because it polutes the air and its not so bad to walk or use a bike it even gives you some exersise than sitting on a car just moving your feet.Another sacrifice i would make is fast food thats bad for your body.

i think a sacrafice i can make is watching less television and saving energy and go outside and play some sports so that i dont have to use that much energy.

A sacrifice is something that you do that might not be as comfortable or convenient as what you usually do. Sacrificing for a good cause is actually a very good thing. It shows that you are willing to give up something so you can help out with something meaningful. A sacrifice people can make for pollution is as simple as just riding a bike, walking, or running instead of using a car. In my opinion, if people would sacrifice simple things, they can make a difference in the enviorment.

I would sacrifice electronics like computers, TVs and video games. This could change the gas and the plants would grow better since the electronics changes the gas and the gas has something to do with the water we use to grow plants. If we dont have plants, we wouldn't have any food to eat.

if i had to give up something in my life i would give up cars because cars can be useful for travaling but its no good for the world . i would rather ride bikes because its more fun and it gives you exercise .
