How does the Mayan civilization compare with the other culture studied so far?

ms. sackstein we didnt learn anything about the mayans today... can you give us an extra day when your in again to do this hw??
the mayans's civilazation is different becaue they were very advanced. they had scientist mathamatics. they even bulit temples where they would worship their gods.
702 - I don't know what you did in class, but if you didn't do the work, you can't do the homework. What I would suggest is visit the website I posted and learn a little about them.
The Mayan civilization was differnt frome some of the others in many ways. They were alot more advanced than others. There artitecture was ahead of their time. They built huge pyramiads with only man-power and the minds of the arctitects. They also had a system of numbers that was consistent something like ours today. They also had a calendar from studting the stars and planets movement.
The Mayans had a more advanced civilazation compared to other tribes. Their calender is 1,200 years old and better than the calender we have today. They also had a sophisticated numbering sytem.
Their huge buildings have survived to this day.
The arrival of the Spaniards in 1541 brought in a dark period. The Spaniards burned the Mayans' books and tried to destroy their culture.

The Mayans were much different from the other civilizations. They made sacrifices, made very huge pyramid like structures out of rare material, and the architecture is go good that it still stands today!
The Mayan cililization is very similar to the Egyptian civilization because they both believe in the same gods and both built the same structures, Such as the pyramids. They also both used heiroglyphics as they're way of writing on stones and cave walls and both civilizations made similar artwork.

The Mayans Civilization and the other cultures we studied so far are different because the Mayans used pictures as their language and they made their own 850picture language, and the other cultures that we learned they sued language like us, not pictures. They are also compared with other cultures becuase they made temples to worship their own Gods. What's similar about the Mayans Civilization and the other cultures we learned is that the Mayans were farmers and some of the cultures had farmers and hunters and fishers.
Im just telling you this...
but then we didn't study about the Mayans on Friday when Ms.s was here..
H.W-Mayan Civilization:
There are a lot of differences between the mayan civilization and the other cultures we learned about in class. One of the difference is that the mayans built pyramids for their god. Another is that the Mayans used pictures as their languages.
The Mayans are different than the other native Americans that I've learned about because they weren't conquered like the Aztecs were, and they we're more advanced than the Algonquins. They were a very warring faction because at random they would go around pillaging villages.
I think the Mayan culturwe is different from other cultures because they were a more advanced civilization then the others. They had a unique calender system. They built temples to honor their gods. They also had science and mathematics. Basically, the Mayans were a more advanced culture.
